You gently tapped your fingers against the table, your eyes staring at a brunette girl who hugged a book to her chest. You frowned at her, before getting up and placing a hand on her shoulder.
"Hinami-chan, I know that you love reading, but you can have fun outside too, I promise!" You tried to persuade her. Hinami shook her head, her locks following every movement. She looked down at the book that she was desperately hugging. You didn't want to give up on your efforts, however.
With the murdering of her parents, Hinami had been locked up in her room. She was either reading or sitting in silence. You were extremely worried for your good friend. It wasn't like her to be so upset, and you wanted to do anything to cheer her up again. But Hinami was stubborn, and didn't want to move from her spot.
"Even Yomo-kun said it was safe to go outside. It'll only be fifteen minutes." You continued to desperately plead. Hinami stayed silent, and you released your grip on her shoulder.
"Please, Hinami... I just want to see you smile again." You whisper to her, a few sniffles escaping you. Hinami sat silent, and you were about to give up. The last thing you needed was Hinami complaining to Touka about you, since she could beat your sorry ass up if she felt like it. As you walked towards the door, a hand encased your wrist. You whipped your head back to see Hinami staring at the ground, her hand in your own.
"I would like to go outside with you, (Name)-chan." Hinami told you, her voice lacing with sincerity. Your visage lit up, as a bright smile appeared on your lips. You took her hand and led her to the back of Anteiku, humming a nice little song. Hinami was able to keep up with you, and she clung close to your body. You let out a giggle, before delicately petting her head.
"Don't worry, Hinami-chan! I'll protect you." It might not have seemed like much, but Hinami nodded her head, and loosened her grip on you a bit. You watched as she took in a deep breath, enjoying the fresh air. A skittish smile came to her face as she sat down near a small trail of flowers.
"Sit down with me, (Name)-chan." She ordered in the nicest way possible. You obeyed, sitting down on the grass. Hopefully you wouldn't get scolded for dirtying up your Anteiku waitress outfit. For a few minutes, you and Hinami exchanged conversation, and you could tell she enjoyed being outside a great deal. Anteiku was a quaint place, but her room must've felt stuffy after a while. An idea came to mind, as grinned at the younger girl, and grabbed a few flowers from the dirt.
Hinami watched curiously as you twined the stems together, your tongue sticking out of your mouth in concentration. Hinami let out a small "ooh" once you were finished. You made a small flower crown for her! Placing it gently on top of her head, Hinami let out a sheepish giggle, before looking down in a puddle to see her reflection. A wider smile crossed her lips, as she leaped forward and hugged your torso.
"Thank you so much (Name)-chan! This is really pretty." She told you in a muffled voice. You also let out a gleeful laugh, and patted her head gingerly.
"You're welcome, Hinami-chan. I hope you'll start feeling better soon."

You never realized how painful life could be until recently. Being a ghoul, you never would even start to believe your future self if they would blurt out those three simple words: I love you.
Loving another seemed nearly impossible for a S rated blood-sucker like you.
But it happened. And it started with the mail man.
As a foreign student studying abroad from (Home Country/Province), you wanted the best experience possible academically.
Kamii University seemed perfect for you. With its small student population but large opportunities

- mei misaki x fem!reader
You were in a separate class from Mei, your childhood friend. You were in Class 2, but you knew what was happening in Class 3 because of Mei. You knew they treated her as if she "didn't exist" - which really pissed you off -, and you knew that her class was "closest to death."
This afternoon, you decided to stop by the gallery.
You paid the fee, and looked around, taking in your surroundings. You headed to the basement, where you knew Mei would be.
"Mei? It's me, [Name]."
Mei emerged from the coffin of the doll that looked like her, and she looked up at you. "You came."
"...Yeah. I had not
