It's not like she doesn't know. Tuffs of chocolate-colored hair blow against her skin; she makes no effort to stop it from happening. Roseate lips curl into a knowing smile. You're unsure whether or not said smile is geniuine.

"I know," she breathes, cupping your face with her right palm. "Are you ready?"

You purse your lips, "I guess I am."

"And yet..."

Hinami, expression still remaining serene, awaits you to finish. Yet your tongue remains unmoving, mouth feeling the equivalent of a desert.

"I don't want to go."

It's a childish ambition, that you're aware of. So is she. When you both joined Aogiri, it wasn't like you didn't understand the weight of it all. Whether or not you regret it is uncertain -- but having met her made the renegade worth the tiring effort.

A brief laughter comes forth from Hinami's lips, and you allow your features to soften.

"The executives won't appreciate it if we don't arrive. We're a crucial part of the mission, remember?" There's a playfulness to her tone that intrigues you. You raise an eyebrow; it wasn't like you haven't arrived at the conclusion.

"Maybe," you drawl. "But, hey, we don't get a paycheck either. Let's skip out on this one, how 'bout it?"

Hinami giggles one more, "If only it were that easy."

You shrug.

"It could be. Simple: we don't show up."

"And if we get in trouble? I don't want to be scolded by Tatara-san, he's intimidating, after all."

A shiver courses through your body at the thought.

"As always, you win, Hina-chan," you say with a small pout. She kisses your forehead, before getting up from next to you. You frown at the warmth that leaves you when she does so. Not even a full minute later, the Aogiri cloak is in place around her, along with her trademark mask.

"Let's go; no procrastinating this time."
